Swing and a Miss!!

I'd consider one of many defining milestones for expecting parents to be the planning and preparation for their baby's sleeping environment or nursery. As far as planning goes, we've researched and ordered the baby furniture, registered so the nursery will have the appropriate decor and we continue to look into the latest do's and don'ts to take the proper safety mearsures. With that our nursery planning is nearing it's end.

As for the preparation, we began our adventure in the form of an office. Our office today is no longer as it's shown to the right. It has been moved upstairs so we could have the nursery on the first floor. Thank you to my brother, Corey, who came up to help move the office furniture. So at this point, the office is upstairs and the nursery was empty ready for it's new color.

This past Friday, I came home from work thinking I'd be proactive in our efforts towards getting the painting done. I started by bringing up all the supplies, taping off the room, and figured I'd see what time it was from there.

Well, everything moved along rather quickly so I decided to get the first coat of paint on the room so we'd have the remainder of the weekend to relax or check off another item on the to-do list.......

Yes, we both agreed on this color. No, the color on the wall didn't appear to be the same as our color swatch we had when choosing the color. Swing and a miss! (The picture doesn't do the actual color justice - it was a lot worse!)

Yes, another trip was made to the store to pick out a new color.....You can see there was a definate difference.....

Finally, A Home Run!
