3 Weeks

Brayden was born at : 6lbs, 3oz at 18.5" long,
Second Week: 6lbs 5oz
THIRD WEEK: 7lbs, 15oz at 20.25" long

Visiting the pediatrician this week he asked Kim a second time to clarify his orginal weight and then chuckled as he told us new borns usually gain three quarters of a pound a week. He quickly followed up it up telling us it's better than not gaining or losing weight.

"Throw your hands up in the air, if you're little with lots of hair! ....."
"...If you're three weeks old and your diaper has a load, ..."
"..let me hear you say yeeeah!"

"If you're feeling little grumpy,..."

"...then reach over and grab your monkey!..."

"...That was the first time for me and now I have to pee..."

"...Enough with the pictures you damn paparazzi!"

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

Grandma Lee has been helping us throughout this week with Kim feeding every 2 hours and myself having to go back to work...... This morning I left the house between 5:30 and 5:45am, got to work and Kim called after being there for about an hour and a half. A tree had fallen. Not only had a tree fallen, but it had fallen on Gradma Lee's NEW Chrysler Town & Country they purchased within the last month. It had less than 2000 miles on it! A pretty bum deal - Lee's over helping us out and a tree falls on her car.....

Brayden's 2nd Week Pictures

Belle and Brayden figuring each other out
We haven't quite worked out the whole swaddling thing yet!

Not sure if this was a smile or a sign of relief!

Brayden's starting to get used to the Pack 'n Play

He's used to the couch.

Dreaming in the Rain Forrest
Belle might be in denial, but is still keeping close eye on Brayden.

"Brother?!?!"

Brayden's 2nd Week Visitors

Scott and Yeimy traveled north to visit this past weekend. It was especially nice to share some of our recent experiences since they will soon be new parents as well! Brayden will have either a future partner in crime or potential girlfriend!! Thanks to Scott and Yeimy for the matching plaid pants and matching golf cap!

"Aunt" Yeimy and "Uncle" Scott
Tuesday, Grandma and Grandpa Marggrander and Nancy (friend of the family) came to visit. Sorry Nancy, we didn't get a picture with you and Brayden. Thank you for the great gifts! Brayden will be styling in his new sunglasses before you know it!

Grandpa Marggrander

Brayden had 8 cousins visit on Wednesday night! Shawn, Liana, Don, Ericka, Sara, Mackenzie, Sydney, and Jordan drove all the way over from the St. Clair area. It was quite the drive for the short visit! It was good to see everyone, thanks!

Brayden's 1st Week Visitors

Once the jaundice started to subside, Brayden's week continued to be eventful, but in a good way this time! The Yarrington's visited on Thursday evening bringing dinner for all and it was much appreciated! Thank you Chad and Sara for the great grub and gifts!

Thursday evening the Hannon Girls came across town to meet Brayden. Adeline and I also played a few games of bowling on the Wii. She bowled a 192! Not bad a for a 4-year-old. I won't tell you my score. Thank you to the Hannons for the dessert tray and gifts!

Back to Beaumont

Kim and I thought Brayden's skin was starting to get somewhat of a yellowish tint late in the day on Sunday and Monday morning. It was confirmed by our pediatrician, Brayden had jaundice and needed to make a trip back to the hospital to stay under the lamps for the night....

It was difficult to see him confined and unhappy to be at the hospital. He did well until about 11pm and then cried relentlessly through morning.

Brayden got his first pair of sunglasses to protect against the bright light!

Maxin' and relaxin' under the warm lights. Who needs a pacifier when you're feeling so good! He made his Aunt Stephanie proud by finding a tanning bed at only 3 days old!
